National Energy Services 2009 Conference

Brian Scannell
Managing Director, NES

Introducing the 2009 National Energy Services Conference

The last 12 months have seen yet more development and challenges in our industry.  Our annual national conference has always been one of the main opportunities where members of our NHER and SAVA schemes can keep up to date with the latest policy, technical and market developments.  It has also been the forum for us to explain our plans and act on feedback from members.

A one-day conference to suit your busy schedule

This year we have decided to run two one day conferences for our members. We have two identical conferences in different locations to help reduce travelling time and costs.

  • Tuesday 10th November
    in Croydon
  • Thursday 12th November
    in Birmingham

Meet the Scheme managers

The day will conclude with a questions and debate session. This is your chance to give feedback direct to our senior management team about you, your career and your membership with our schemes.

The day will conclude with taking questions and points of view from the floor on the issues raised at this conference, as well as your chance to give feedback on any aspect of the industry.

This session will bring you up to speed on the latest policy developments and explore the opportunities for energy assessors.

Brian Scannell, Austin Baggett, NES

The NHER is imminently due to publish its report into 2 years of EPCs.  What is the carbon saving potential and what is the reaction of home buyers?  The NHER is making 7 key recommendations to Government.  This is your chance to contribute to the debate.

Richard Macphail, Principal Consultant, NES

An update and discussion forum on the latest plans to increase conditioning reporting in England and Wales.

There has been a huge leap in the development of new technologies to reduce carbon emissions from homes.  This seminar will keep you at the forefront of the latest thinking, and will provide advice about how to assess these technologies within the current national calculation methodologies.

DEAs sometimes encounter homes that are not easily assessed using RDSAP.  This seminar presents some case studies and looks at a future plan to allow a full SAP assessment to be carried out.

Dyfrig Hughes, Principal Consultant, NES

Including the opportunity to meet the NHER technical, training, registration & compliance teams to discuss questions & feedback on any queries you might have.

What are the common compliance problems and what aspects of the assessment should you be paying particular attention to?  You are encouraged to share your experiences in a discussion forum.

Mike Tofts, Senior Consultant NES

The Government has stated an ambition to give whole house energy efficiency ‘make overs’ to 7 million homes by 2020.  With determination and creative solutions even the most hard to treat home can be brought up to standards that are comparable with new build Passivhaus standards.  This seminar describes one such refurbishment.

Andy Simmonds, Partner, Simmonds Mills Architects and Executive Director of the AECB

Geoff Ramm is a marketing speaker, practitioner and author. He has been described as the Billy Connolly and Peter Kay of marketing!  On stage his observational style enthuses and inspires companies with ideas to market their business.
